Helping Homeless Youth Survive
South Africa's homeless youth are grossly under serviced by government agencies and are therefore forced to survive by their own devices. Homelessness of children and youth in South Africa is on the increase, due in part to HIV/Aids, poverty, perceived (or relative) poverty, the breakdown in family structures, breakdown of values, and violent crimes.

Each one of us discovered The House through some media or internet article. We could understand plight of the girls and started to volunteer whatever we could offer. Now, seventeen years later, the first girls then saved from brothels in 1991 are today between thirty and fifty years old. Most have married and have families of their own and did not end up as drug addicts or sex slaves and did not end up in the Johannesburg morgue as so many thousands of the girls we could not get to in time.
