"One person cannot change the world, but we can change the world for one person, one at a time"
We live in an unequal society.
THE HOUSE GROUP has been an advocate for equal rights of protection against exploitation for young females since 1990.
Our work and diligent struggles over many years was the reason why shelters and residential care centers for female children and youth became law in South Africa, and today enjoy status of financial support from public funds.
A Long Struggle Ahead
The struggle for protection of vulnerable females in poverty-stricken societies is not over.
We enjoy the acknowledgement and well-wishes of thousands across the world because of our history, but it is still a struggle month-to-month to keep going financially. Your financial support will be much appreciated. It will empower us to continue our path on the long road to success.
2014 is our time for renewal
Not only are we revamping our web site (as you have no doubt noticed) but we have had major renovations done to our inner-city Johannesburg properties, the residential care units. More about this inside...
Residential Care Centres
Today, we operate residential care centers for females in need of care. We are placed in at the same address in the slums of Hillbrow from where we have been operating since 1992. We are an institution on these streets. It is no exaggeration to state that literally thousands of women have come through our doors, and have received life-changing assistance from us--made possible by your support over more than 20-years.
